Last night at 11:00pm, after 3 hours of fussing and screaming, we resorted to the Last Resort - which our manual calls Highway Parenting. Strap the screaming child in the car seat, stuff him in the car and drive.
It worked. Of course it worked, it's the only surefire way to get Griffin to sleep. We came home and he slept solidly until 3:30 in the morning. In his car seat. Fine by me, a sleeping baby is a sleeping baby. I read something brilliant the other day, which said you will never ever wake up your second born child for any reason, so think about that before you go and wake up your firstborn. Smart.
