Story Time
Well, it's official - the first bedtime story that I can recite to you word to word without even cracking open the book is a delightful little tale called "The Vegetables go to Bed." I have no idea where we got this book, but thank you thank you thank you to whoever gave it to us (A hand-me-down from the Marcrofts, perhaps?) This lovely little book is filled with GORGEOUS illustrations, and I just found out this evening when I googled her name, that the illustrator is the same woman who illustrated the American version of the Harry Potter Books. Griffin LOVES this book, and no matter what else I am reading him, he'll sit and point and grunt at it until I pick it up and read it. Night after night, I read this book, and I'm just thrilled to bits that his favourite book is one of my favourites too, and not some ridiculous book about a specific purple dinosaur (who, incidentally we have banned from the house, just because. We're the parents, we can do stuff like that!)
I call this:
Good Things,
Griffin,
Mamahood

Barney is banned at my house, too. I would like to ban all commercial characters, but that's almost impossible to do. So, I settle for keeping the dinosaur out. So far, so good.
I'm going to have to check out The Vegetables Go to Bed. We have hundreds of books, but not that one.
I suck and have tagged you for a meme. You can thank me after you're done killing me.
