The Score

Well, hello.

It's been a busy week, or a busy few weeks, or something. Holy fracking hell, how did it get to be the middle of February already?

Steve has been stoopid busy for the past few weeks, trying to open 3 different shows in 3 different cities, often leaving before the sun rises (but rarely before the son rises!) and returning long long after the sun (and the sons) have gone to bed. This of course leaves me as head cook, chauffeur, and maiden of the laundry. Oh, and milk truck.

However, I think we're doing ok. Not great, but OK.

Here's how it looks, by the numbers:

Number of meals consumed via drive thru: None. (Go me!)

Number of Starbucks drivethroughs: 2. At least.

Number of times we've had cereal as a main meal, other than breakfast: 2.

Number of loads of laundry washed: A bajillion.

Number of loads of laundry piled up on the folding table, waiting to be folded: A bajillion.

Number of loads of laundry put away: Zero. Fail.

Number of times I've lost my kid this week: Once, at the Science Centre. Very busy, bajillions of children. Epic fail.

Number of times I've had to pull the car over to breastfeed a screaming infant: Once. Not bad.

Number of times I've started to compose a Craigslist ad to sell my eldest child: Once. Again, not bad.

Number of nights Griffin has come home, stripped off his pants (underwear included,) and spent the rest of the night running around sans pants: Every. Single. One. This kid has a pants complex.

Number of times I've forgotten to feed the dog: Oh, a lot.

Number of times the dog has taken it upon himself to help himself to my dinner: Twice.

Number of tiny dinosaurs I've stepped on: Too many.

Number of times I've cursed the day I bought those stupid dinosaurs: Not enough.

Number of blog posts I've composed in my head, but not at my computer: Dozens.

I'll likely add to this list, at least in my head for the next few days.

How's things in your hood?

Sounds just like any other normal week in a household with 2 young children,a dog who's too smart for his own good, and a hard working mommy and daddy.

I hear you on many of those counts and sympathize on all of them. Miss you. Much love.

I think you are doing spectacularly... just for the record. I was extremely impressed with the valentines - that has to count as a win for various of the 'fails'. And you managed to go to the science center????!!!!! Wow.
