The end of a busy weekend

It feels like I need a bit of simple to finish off the day.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...It is pitch dark, and I can't see a thing. I hear crickets, and when I'm done this here post, I might just step out and take a peek at the stars.

I am thinking...about snuggling up in my bed with my husband, who I have really enjoyed spending time with this weekend.

I am thankful for...everything. My home, my family, this little life we've created here...it's awesome!

From the kitchen...it has been such a joy to have friends and family to visit recently, and to feed them from my garden!

I am wearing...My favourite jeans, which, thanks to me getting back on my running program, are feeling a little loose!

I am creating...a beautiful quilt for a silent auction for a fundraiser. I'm not going to want to give this one away, I'm so happy with it!

I am going...to bed, very shortly.

I am reading...some fun new blogs as of late. I've been on a real homesteading blog kick, and I'm enjoying what I've found.

I am hoping...for a restful night, and not an all night Corben buffet.

I am hearing...the quiet tick of the ceiling fans....and that's about it. It's SO quiet here tonight.

Around the house...there are very few things out of place. It is clean here, cleaner than it's been in a while. Nothing like company coming to get me into gear.

One of my favorite things...Griffin has started to draw! After months of encouraging him to pick up a pencil, he has finally decided to go for it! He's gone from not wanting to hold a pencil, to drawing fully recognizable figures, in an instant. This is my kid - he doesn't do things until he's damn good and ready.

A few plans for the rest of the week: finishing up round two of swimming lessons, spending some time in the garden with my tomato plants, and planting another round of peas and kale, finishing up that quilt and getting started on a few more...there's one in the works for Griffin, one for Corben, and one for a baby arriving in October.

Thanks to the Simple Woman's Daybook, for helping keep things simple.

June went from scribbles to recognizable figures all of a sudden, too, a few months before her 4th birthday.
