A sponge in our house

We are living with a sponge right now. Sponge Bob Griffin Pants. It's unbelievable how much Griffin is soaking up right now. Where it used to take weeks for us to teach him new signs, now it takes a mere few days for him to start signing it back. He's understanding more and more of what we say, and is starting to REPEAT stuff back!! We're quickly realizing that we have to watch our potty-mouths around this kid, because one of these days he's going to turn around and call me a jerk, and I'll have no one to blame but myself. Or my husband!

Griffin's vocabulary now consists of Griffinized versions of "dog" "Dudley" "duck" "sit" "cheese" "Mama" "Dada" "shoe" and everyone's personal favourite "cheers!" Griffin will "cheers" anything - all you have to be doing is holding a glass - he'll cheers you with his sippy cup, cheers you with his bottle, or a fork, a plate, or anything else he can grab. It's adorable. He's become an expert at the Fakeout cheers too - this trick involves holding out his cup and saying cheers, at which point you raise your glass to toast him, and before you know it he's got your glass and is going for a big old mouthful of wine!

Just another fine example of the apple landing pretty close to the tree!
