Giveaway X

I was recently asked by a friend to make a quilt for his parent's 40th anniversary, and used the commission as an opportunity to toddle off to the local quilt store to search for inspiration. I found a few ideas, but I also found something ELSE - some fabric to turn into a little giveaway gift!

What's the gift, you ask? Ummm....not telling! Because, you see, I could say I'm making X, and you get all "OH, I love the X and want the X" and then X turns out to be a dismal failure (because I've never made anything like an X before!) and then y'all end up with a Y and you're disappointed, so you run and throw it in a lake. And we all know Y's don't float. And then I look dumb. And so on. So I'm not telling you what X is...but I will show you this:

Isn't it pritty? And, if all works out, it's going to make a darn cute X!!

Those fabrics are so cheerful and lovely I can't imagine anything made from them ending up in the lake! Just working with fabrics like that would make me smile so you should just have fun with them.

I love 'X' already...and 'Y' too! And like previous commenter said, how could anything made from those wonderful, SUMMERY (mmm...summer) fabrics end up in the lake...unless you are making a bathing suit or a cosy for a life ring! Love your new masthead/banner! Now are you going to do like 'dooce' and tell us all the minutiae of how you created it on your computer?

I'm sure whatever it will be will be lovely! super fun fabrics.

Should we try to guess? Maybe it will be an apron! ;)

Hmm . . . I've always sort of preferred Y over X. X is just so negative while Y just wants to know what's going on. I wonder if I should hope for X to fail so that Y can reign supreme.

I was sort of hoping for Z, but I obviously have a special relationship with X... but more importantly I love the new masthead banner! Very fun indeed!

Y is all well and good - but we all know about chromosomes...and XX RULES!

those cheerful fabrics would make anything x or y very lovely to have around the house.
