Happiness is: Day 25

Happy Canada Day! HOORAY! (This is Griffin, giving you his best HOORAY!) After discovering that the "all day kids activities" at the fairgrounds didn't start till 3 (Um, people? All day, to the parent of someone who gets up at 6:30am, should start by 10am at the latest. Starting at 3pm? You should call those "Nap time kid's activities.") Sorry...I digressed. Anywho, after being thwarted at the fairgrounds, we headed to the berry patch instead. Good think they only weighed the strawberries when we left, and not the kid - he ate them as fast as I could pick them (as you can plainly see.) (Note to self: white shirt+berry patch=very big, yet still patriotic mess.)

Later we went and threw some rocks in the turtle pool with Graham. A yard FULL of toys, my kid plays with rocks!
We finally headed to the arena at 7pm (after a 3 hour nap from 3:30 till 6:30!) only to discover that the "all day kid's activities" were over. And they were out of beer. But someone had run to the grocery store to get more food, so at least they weren't out of burgers anymore. We ate some food, danced in the parking lot, and then headed over to the playground for some flying, climbing, and yelling! We thought about staying for fireworks, but felt decidedly guilty about keeping the little munchkin out so late, only to scare the bejezus out of him with fireworks. So home we went. All in all, a wonderful day!

I was up there one year for Canada Day. What a blast.

Everyone had their flags out flying and it was just packed every where we went.

Of course it was just Niagra Falls...not so exciting...not like I really ventured into Canada that far, but still...really enjoyed it.

Loved the photos of Griffin! What a cutie!

I'm debating fireworks for our Fourth of July celebrations. Jonathan isn't a big fan of loud noises so...we'll see.

I have to admit I read the line "they were out of beer" right above the picture of Griffin yelling (?) into that yellow tube, and at first glance I thought he was tipping up a bucket to drink out of it and that's why they were out of beer.

Oh the mind plays funny tricks, now doesn't it.

I agree on the "all day" thing - obviously not planned by anyone with children!

It was obviously a parent-less person who planned that "all day" thing. Figures. Love the strawberry juice!
